Introducing Taylor Kitsch

Canada's breakout star flashes his dark side in fall's deadliest formal wear.

If Taylor Kitsch was a football play, he would definitely be a Hail Mary: the young actor appeared from out of nowhere, flying clean over the heads of all the other players on the field.

Born in Kelowna and raised in Vancuver, Kitsch got his start as a model in New York, where he appeared in ads for Abercrombie & Fitch and took acting classes.  Soon after, Kitsch landed roles in two new films, the upcoming supernatural thriller The Covenant, and the sleeper hit Snakes On A Plane. ("Im the one who gets the snakes onto the plane"), and scored the starrring role as bad boy Tim Riggins in NBC's high-school football drama Friday Night Lights. The series is being shot in Austin, Texas, where the locals are rabid about the sport.  "If I ever find myself lacking motivation" say's Kitsch, "all I have to do is drive to any highschool within five miles of the set."

Kitsch loves acting, and admits that he was never particularly into being a model. " It was kind of a segue.  It got me to New York," he explains. "I'm more of a black T-shirt kind of guy.  Add a good pair of  jeans, maybe some nice worn-out boots - like what my character in The Covenant wears.  Though I do enjoy putting on a slick black suit for movie premieres."  Kitsch might want to invest in a few more suits.  If his acting career continues onthe same trajectory, he'll need them.
