Heroes turns up the Lights

Heroes stormed the schedule last night, flying even higher than it has previously and giving Friday Night Lights a boost. The Tuesday-night football drama was put into Monday's post- Heroes berth for a special one-time showing.

Heroes stormed the schedule last night, flying even higher than it has previously and giving Friday Night Lights a boost. The Tuesday-night football drama was put into Monday's post- Heroes berth for a special one-time showing.

Heroes was watched by 14.7 million viewers, up from last week's 14.3 million. In the 18- to 49-year-old demographic, Heroes scored a 6.3 rating, up from last week's 6.1.

Friday Night Lights was seen by 8.3 million viewers, better than last Tuesday's 6.3 million. It was also better than the usual inhabitant of the 10 p.m. spot, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, which has been sliding fast and was seen by 7.7 million last week.

Even with the improvement, Lights was trounced by a CSI: Miami repeat in the 10 p.m. slot, with 14.2 million viewers. Lights came in second in the time period, rather than third, which is the spot Studio 60 has been occupying regularly.

The CW had the best ratings for a Monday night this season, proving that its decision to swap Sunday and Monday lineups was a good one.

At 8 p.m., NBC led with Deal or No Deal at a 4.8 in 18- to 49-year-olds, followed by Fox's Prison Break at 3.6. CBS scored a 2.7 for reruns of How I Met Your Mother and The Class, and ABC earned a 2.6 for Wife Swap. CW won a 1.4 for Everybody Hates Chris and All of Us.

At 9 p.m., NBC continued to be top dog with Heroes at a 6.4. CBS followed with reruns of Two and a Half Men and The New Adventures of Old Christine at a 3.7. ABC's The Bachelor: Rome scored a 3.2. Fox and Justice came in with a 2.1, and the CW earned a 1.4 with Girlfriends and The Game.

At 10 p.m., CBS took the lead a 4.4 for CSI: Miami, followed by NBC and Lights at 3.5. ABC's What About Brian scored a 2.9.

Overall, NBC earned an average 4.9 rating/13 share, with 13.3 million viewers; CBS snared 3.6/9, 11.4 million; ABC scored 2.9/7, 7.1 million; Fox snagged 2.8/7, 7.7 million; and the CW nabbed 1.4/3, 3.2 million.
