| Alloy Interviews Taylor |

If the season premiere of Friday Night Lights is any
indication, it's gonna be an exciting season for the Panthers both on
and off the field. It's senior year for many of the show's characters,
and not only is the team faced with new players, including a new
quarterback, but there are new hookups (Tim and Lyla), breakups (Landry
and Tyra), and more. (No murder this time around…we think.) You heard from Jesse Plemons…now get the goods from his FNL co-star/Panthers teammate Taylor Kitsch! What was it like getting back to filming the latest season?
Pretty exciting. Riggs is definitely one of my favorite characters to portray. I love working in Austin, as well. *WARNING* - The rest of the interview does contain spoilers!
Lots. New position on the field. Steady girlfriend and not dating around. Billy and Tim get into a lot of trouble/fun this year, and Tim finds himself saying goodbye to a few people he holds close. Tim and Lyla are so different -- why do you think they work as a couple? Do you think they belong together? Yeah, they are in ways, but in so many ways, they are in tune with one another. They understand one another, and when two people are trying to grow and find purpose in their lives (especially teens!), these relationships where they both see one another's vulnerabilities...that's where they help each other out. Also, bottom line, they both kinda know how much they care for one another. Do they belong together? I'll leave that up to you guys... This season is Tim's senior year. What's your favorite memory from your senior year? I remember going and buying a car for $100 during photography class, insuring it, and being back in time for the end of class. Classic. The show has had an amazing cult following. Why do you think so many people latch onto the show? Its portrayal is real and relatable. Any one person can relate to the struggles of one of these characters. That makes it engaging. Have you had any injuries while filming football scenes? Zero injuries. I have a great stunt double. The show is such an ensemble show -- who do you like doing scenes with most? Enjoy working with everyone. Smash and I work well with one another. Billy is always fun. Kyle is amazin'. What has it been like to not have Gaius and Scott as regular characters? Smash and Street are intricate parts of our show and always will be. I don't think if they are in less episodes that they will be forgotten. Believe me. Their storylines are great this year. How has it been having the new characters on the show? Love having new blood on our show. Always makes for some good curveballs to the main characters' lives. Why should people watch this season of Friday Night Lights? Well, like I've been saying since day one, "Let us prove ya wrong." The show is loosely linked to the Friday Night Lights book and movie. What other book would you like see brought to the big screen? My fave book at the moment is Shantaram, [and it's] already being made. Johnny Depp is doing it. You just finished filming the new X-Men movie. What was it like going from Friday Night Lights to that? X-Men was a great experience. I learned a lot working with Hugh Jackman, [and I'm] looking forward to it. What other projects do you have coming up? Upcoming projects...well, you are just going to have to wait... Link |
