From E! Online...
Friday Night Lights star Taylor Kitsch gets feisty in his upcoming summer blockbuster X-Men Origins: Wolverine when he takes on the role of Gambit.
E! News Weekend caught up with the young actor on the red carpet of the 2008 Gemini Awards and we had to ask him if he gets irked by all of his shirtless FNL scenes.
Plus, he tells E! what it was like working alongside People’s Sexiest Man, Hugh Jackman.

READER'S CHOICE: TV
13. TAYLOR KITSCH ON FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS
He
stole every scene he was in, and his reaction shot full of pride and
sadness and wistfulness at the end of [the Nov. 19] episode upon seeing
his best friend move beyond him...wow. Subtle, touching, and perfect.
I'm still crying. - Sam

Taylor/Tim Riggins is on TV Guide's recent "TV Characters We're Thankful For..." list.
Tim Riggins (Taylor Kitsch) from Friday Night Lights
He's the classic bad boy. He drinks, he lives like a frat boy and
sleeps around, but underneath it all, he's a real softy. A softy we
just adore.

Indeed, until now, his biggest success has been playing Wolverine in
the popular “X-Men” series. He’s in post-production on a film focused
on Wolverine, set for release next spring. (He’s a producer, too.)
“I just saw the first cut of the movie,” he said. “I’m a very harsh
critic with first cuts, but it exceeded my expectations. It plays
really strongly. Simply put, it has to be bad ass. That’s the character
of Wolverine. He’s unrelenting and unforgiving.
“As a prequel, we learn where he came from. It’s about a man
battling between his human and animalistic sides. I think fans will
love it.”
But the biggest reaction during a teaser at the summer ComicCon
convention wasn’t to Wolverine but a minor character Gambit, played by
Taylor Kitsch, the swoon-worthy Tim Riggins on the NBC show “Friday
Night Lights.”
“He raised the roof,” he said. “I was a tad jealous!”

Jason's final episode will find him visiting New York with his longtime
friend, Tim Riggins. Porter wouldn't reveal what happens in his
character's final moments, but he did admit that saying goodbye was
difficult. "My last scenes were with Taylor Kitsch,"
he said. "And Taylor and I basically flew to New York for my last week
on the show, and the two of us couldn't keep it together in the last
scene...there were definitely tears. Taylor would kill me for
telling you this, but there were definitely tears."

Like The White Shadow long ago, and Sports Night a decade ago, Friday Night Lights is one of those shows that takes sports as the spine of a series and makes for a really compelling watch.
On Friday, I had a chance to chat with Lights star Taylor
Kitsch, who plays Dillon Panther Tim Riggins. Read on to find out about
his passion for hockey, his role on the show and its future.
*WARNING* - Contains some spoilers.

I just wanted to ask you. So, in the last episode, Lauren Conrad made a brief appearance, and then we'll be seeing Nigel Barker. Are
there any other guest stars that we should look out for this season,
and also, if you could get anyone to guest star on the show, who would
it be?
Truthfully, my secret fantasy right now is, I'm dreaming of Megan's mom because she comes up later, and being a huge fan of Friday Night Lights, I'm a little obsessed with Connie Britton,
and I kind of think Connie Britton is so perfect for the role of
Megan's mom. She's available, I don't know what's happening with the Lights, but she would be my dream mom for Megan right now.
Oh my gosh, please do whatever you can to get her.
I know, I know. And then of course, we just want to get Taylor Kitsch
just because. Who doesn't want Taylor Kitsch on their show? I'm
TV-obsessed. I don't even go for the movie stars. I just go for the
other shows that I'm psychotically fans of.

If the season premiere of Friday Night Lights is any
indication, it's gonna be an exciting season for the Panthers both on
and off the field. It's senior year for many of the show's characters,
and not only is the team faced with new players, including a new
quarterback, but there are new hookups (Tim and Lyla), breakups (Landry
and Tyra), and more. (No murder this time around…we think.) You heard from Jesse Plemons…now get the goods from his FNL co-star/Panthers teammate Taylor Kitsch!
What was it like getting back to filming the latest season?
Pretty exciting. Riggs is definitely one of my favorite characters to portray. I love working in Austin, as well.
*WARNING* - The rest of the interview does contain spoilers!

Rising Stars Taylor Kitsch (NBC's Friday Night Lights), who has a featured role in festival entrant Gospel Hill; and Kate Mara (Brokeback Mountain, We Are Marshall, Shooter), who is featured in Stone of Destiny, which will be screened this week.
As part of the program, the actors will
meet with three similarly recognized Shooting Stars, who were named by
the European Film Promotion Board: Hannah Herzsprung (Werther), Anamaria Marinca (Boogie), and Maryam Hassouni (Dunya & Desie). The program also includes a private casting workshop,
public symposiums, red-carpet events, and meetings with Frances McDormand,
Oscar winner and mentor in the program.
All three actors appear in films that have received a certain amount of notice.
Gospel Hill,
directed by Giancarlo Esposito, deals with a predominantly black town
that has faced racial tensions since the civil rights era. Citizens of
the town are now being moved off of their land in favor of a
multimillion dollar golf course. Kitsch plays Joel Herrod, the son of
an ex-sheriff who incited the racial tensions 30 years ago after not
prosecuting anyone for the murder of Peter Malcolm, a civil rights
activist played by Samuel L. Jackson.
"The
film deals with people's personal morals," says Kitsch. "It leads you
to ask what you would do in each character's situation. The audience
will learn a lot about themselves through this film. My character sees
the racial tensions in front of him and turns a blind eye to them, but
he recognizes their effects as well."
