 From E! Online's " Watch with Kristin"...
You fellow Friday Night Lights fans know that WWRD—"What would Riggins do?"—is a solid mantra to live by.
But the question of the day is, what would you do for
Tim Riggins? (Ladies, that says "for," not "to," though as always, we
welcome your Riggins-related fan fiction in the Comments.)
The answer is nothing short of amazing. You fans are incredible and devoted, and here is the proof...
I just checked in with the superstars over at SaveFridayNightLights.tv, and in just the few days since we learned we might lose Friday Night Lights, they have arranged the following:
Some 6,250 minifootballs (below) are spiraling their way toward Ben Silverman as we speak.
NBC Universal CEO Jeff Zucker will soon be receiving 7,500 minifootballs.
The Any Soldier website will be distributing 42 Friday Night Lights DVDs to troops stationed overseas, thanks to the funding of FNL fans.
Friday Night Lights fans have also contributed to the following organizations:
Gridiron Heroes,
a charity that helps high schoolers who have suffered spinal cord
injuries while playing high school football, much like Jason Street did
in the pilot, $308. FNL's exec producer sits on the board of the Gridiron Heroes foundation.
It's so touching I could cry. Please, if you haven't seen it yet, check out SaveFridayNightLights.tv and contribute to the cause.
As for the current status of FNL,
I can tell you that according to inside sources, no deal has been
hammered out yet regarding a third season. However, the idea of the previously reported multiplatform approach is still on the table, and the power players and critics remain hopeful that something can be done to save one of TV's best-ever series.
Clear eyes. Full hearts. Can't Lose...Right?
In
the meantime, Silverman and Zucker, you might want to look into some
storage space...and a good time slot for this awesome, fan-favorite
series.

As I mentioned in a previous posting, Taylor and other Canuck rising stars took part in a photo shoot for a special feature in En Route magazine. Here it is...
With performances ranging from the ribsplittingly hilarious to the
heart-breakingly tender, these young Canadian actors have already made
their mark – and they’re just getting started. The next generation of
Hollywood royalty has arrived.
TAYLOR KITSCH
The Hunk
Last December, Taylor Kitsch attended an L.A. Kings hockey game with his friend, Gossip Girl heartthrob Chace Crawford – a minor event but one deemed newsworthy by ET Canada and Perezhilton.com. For Kitsch, who appeared in Snakes on a Plane but is best known for his television role as a hard-living football player on Friday Night Lights,
the incident was perhaps an introduction to a new tier of fame. But the
26-year-old Kelowna, B.C., native is seeking a different kind of
renown. “I want to be a respected actor,” he says. “Not a celebrity.”

Taylor appeared briefly on ET Canada tonight in a segment about an upcoming special feature in En Route magazine.
Canada's hottest men (Taylor Kitsch, Gregory Smith & Jay Baruchel) are taking off in Hollywood and landing on the cover of Air Canada's inflight magazine. These young men are part of a special feature on Canuck rising stars in En Route magazine.
Their rising stars led them South of the border to become Hollywood's newest crop of talent.
Here's what Taylor had to say...
"Just to see where everyone's gonna go in the next 5 years, ya know? That's exciting too, because you just never know."
But LA can have a dark side. Not so for 'Friday Night Lights' hunk, Taylor Kitsch.
"To do your own thing, you know, hang around and associate yourself with the friends you had before it all started. It keeps you real...grounded."
Tomorrow night on ET Canada, they are going to take us behind the scenes of the exclusive photoshoot. We'll definitely be watching and will post more if Taylor is shown again, so be sure to check back!

From E!Online...
Welcome to the news that just might make your day—no, month—if you're a fan of Friday Night Lights.
Inside sources confirm to me that NBC Universal (the studio that makes FNL)
is currently talking to various networks about the idea of sharing the
show's third season among more than one channel in an effort to save
the series from cancellation and broaden its audience.
Those channels in discussion include the CW, TNT, DirecTV and a place called Comcast Entertainment Group, which, hmmm, sounds familiar because, oh yeah, they sign my checks. Both E! and G4 fall under the Comcast umbrella.
And
in what I can only describe as a swell of pure, unadulterated pride, I
must tell you: I know firsthand that our CEO Ted Harbert is a big fan
of FNL and is very much on the frontlines of trying to help
save the series. (A fact that has now surpassed "bagel Thursday" as my
number one reason to love this workplace.)
So, what exactly does
this potential expansion deal mean? The intricacies have yet to be
hammered out, but the general idea is that NBC would first-run its
episodes of Friday Night Lights and then other network(s)
would pay a repurposing fee to air repeats at other times during the
week. This plan could be a huge benefit to FNL and its fans for three reasons:
- It will bring Friday Night Lights to new viewers who have not yet seen it.
- Those viewers will undoubtedly fall in love with FNL and start watching the original on NBC.
- The
show could finally receive the ratings and mainstream awareness it so
richly deserves. Hello, Emmy for Connie Britton! Hello, GQ cover for Taylor Kitsch!
In short, Friday Night Lights, one of the best series ever to hit the small screen, could be saved. Truly
saved in a way that not only pleases the fans and critics, but offers
real potential for greatly improve ratings and a bottom-line success
story for NBC's higher-ups to brag about.
What would Michael Scott call that? Oh yeah. Win-win-win.
So what now? We are currently working on a bigger-picture plan for you fans to help save Friday Night Lights in a very concrete way. So for the time being, sit tight, comment below, say a little prayer and remember...
Clear eyes. Full hearts. Can't lose.

"Friday Night Lights" star Taylor Kitsch will play Gambit (AKA Remy LeBeau) in director Gavin Hood's X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Kitsch has signed a three-picture deal.
He'll be joining Hugh Jackman (Wolverine), Liev Schreiber (Sabretooth),
Danny Huston (William Stryker) and Lynn Collins (Silver Fox) in the
20th Century Fox release, opening May 1, 2009."
Thanks to the people that run Taylor's Official Fan Page, we can also tell you that Taylor left today for Australia and New Zealand to begin filming.
Congrats Taylor!

From BuzzSugar.com...
As I mentioned earlier today, there's a chance the most recent episode of Friday Night Lights
could be the end of the show forever. Can't let that happen? Across the
Internet, a variety of fan-driven movements are starting up to lobby
for keeping the show on the air. Here's how to get involved:
The folks at Best Week Ever have a whole FNL booster club going on, complete with a petition to save the show and an initiative to send light bulbs to NBC
to urge the network to keep the lights on. They write: "Light bulbs are
cheap, easy to come by, and if they break during shipping, the
shattered glass might even seem vaguely threatening when NBC opens the
package. Sort of like, 'You try to take away our Panthers, and we might
just cut you.'
This campaign is trying to raise money to send mini footballs to NBC. This one's similar to that Jericho nuts campaign in that you donate money
that will go to a group shipment of footballs. Each dollar gets you one
football, and the group is hoping to ship 2,500 footballs to NBC
(they're at about 550 right now). You can also follow their efforts on MySpace and Facebook.
Will any of these many efforts work? I'm sure any Jericho fan
would say it doesn't hurt to try. So, what are you waiting for? If you
love the show, get watching, writing, video making, and light bulb,
football, and eye drop shopping!
